What Does an Amazon Marketing Service Include? (Full Breakdown for Indian Sellers)

amazon marketing agency

Quick answer: An Amazon marketing service covers everything that gets your product seen and bought on Amazon.in. That usually means Amazon Ads (PPC) management, listing and keyword optimisation, A+ Content and Brand Store design, deals and sale planning, a review strategy, account health checks and clear monthly reporting. A good Amazon marketing agency runs all of this as one plan, not as five separate jobs.

Let’s be honest. Most sellers don’t go looking for an Amazon marketing agency when things are going great. They start searching when the ad bill keeps going up and the sales graph doesn’t.

Maybe that’s you right now. You’re spending ₹50,000 or ₹5 lakh a month on Amazon ads, your ACoS is stuck somewhere near 35%, and every agency you call says “we’ll scale you” without telling you what they’ll actually do.

So here’s the plain version. In this post, we’ll break down what an Amazon marketing service should include, what it usually doesn’t, and one real account we manage where monthly sales went from about ₹34 lakh to over ₹1.5 crore.

Why Amazon.in needs more than “just running ads”

Amazon in India isn’t the same place it was two years ago.

At its Connected Worlds event in Mumbai in March 2026, Amazon Ads said it now serves hundreds of thousands of advertisers in India. More sellers means more people bidding on the same keywords. More bids mean costlier clicks. Simple maths, painful bills.

The way people shop has changed too. Rufus, Amazon’s AI shopping assistant, is now live for Amazon.in shoppers. People ask it things like “gift ideas for my wife’s birthday” or “which is better, OLED or LED?” and it suggests products by reading listings, reviews and Q&A. If your listing is thin, no ad budget in the world will fully fix that.

That’s why a real Amazon marketing service looks at your whole store, not just the ads dashboard.

What does an Amazon marketing service include?

Here’s the full menu. Not every brand needs all of it on day one, but you should know what’s on offer before you sign anything.

1. Account audit and growth plan

Every good engagement starts here. The agency goes through your last 60 to 90 days of data: search term reports, wasted spend, which products actually make money, stock levels and how your prices compare with competitors.

Think of it like a doctor’s check-up before the prescription. If an agency wants to “start campaigns tomorrow” without looking at your account first, that’s a red flag.

What you should get: a written plan with your hero products, a target ACoS for each one and a monthly budget split.

2. Amazon Ads management (the PPC part)

This is what most people mean when they say “Amazon ads”. It usually covers:

  • Sponsored Products: ads for single products in search results and on product pages. Almost every account starts here.
  • Sponsored Brands: your logo, a headline and a few products (or a short video) at the top of search. You’ll need Brand Registry for this.
  • Sponsored Display: retargeting and product page ads that follow shoppers who looked but didn’t buy.
  • Amazon DSP and Prime Video ads: for bigger brands. DSP usually needs a monthly spend running into lakhs, so it’s rarely the right place to start.

Inside these campaigns, the real work is boring but it matters a lot. Keyword research, match types, negative keywords, bid changes, placement tweaks and cutting search terms that spend money without selling anything.

Why does that matter so much? Industry data puts most Indian CPCs somewhere between ₹6 and ₹40 per click, depending on the category. A handful of bad keywords can quietly eat lakhs over a year.

Amazon has also brought its new Campaign Manager to India, which puts the ads console and DSP in one place, along with AI tools like Ads Agent and Creative Agent. Useful? Yes. But tools don’t set strategy. Someone still has to decide what to push, when, and at what cost.

3. Listing optimisation (Amazon SEO)

Ads bring people to your page. Your listing decides if they buy.

This part covers:

  • Titles and bullet points built around what buyers really search
  • Backend search terms
  • Clear answers to common buyer questions (this also helps with Rufus)
  • A proper image set: main image, lifestyle shots, infographics and size or usage charts

Here’s a simple way to see it. If your conversion rate goes from 8% to 12%, every rupee you spend on ads now works 50% harder. Same budget, more orders.

4. A+ Content, Brand Store and creatives

Brand-registered sellers can add A+ Content, the rich section with images and comparison charts under your bullets. You can also build a Brand Store, which is basically a mini website inside Amazon.

Most agencies also handle ad creatives here: Sponsored Brands videos, custom images and banners for sale events.

5. Deals, pricing and sale planning

In India, a big chunk of the year’s sales happens in a few busy windows like Prime Day, the Great Indian Festival and the Republic Day and Independence Day sales.

Your Amazon marketing service should plan these weeks well in advance. That means coupons, deals, stock, budget increases and which products to push hardest.

Walking into a festive sale without a plan is like opening a mithai shop on Diwali with half-empty shelves. You’ll get the crowd. You just won’t get the sales.

6. Reviews and ratings strategy

Reviews affect your conversion rate and what Rufus recommends. A good agency helps you get more genuine reviews through Amazon’s own programs and proper follow-up, and keeps an eye on rating drops before they hurt sales.

Anyone offering to “arrange” reviews for you? Run. That’s a fast way to get an account suspended.

7. Account health and inventory support

Stockouts hurt your rankings. Policy warnings can hurt the whole account. Many agencies track account health, warn you about low stock and help fix listing errors or suppressed products.

8. Reporting that actually makes sense

You should get a clear weekly or monthly report with at least these numbers:

  • ACoS: ad spend ÷ ad sales
  • TACoS: ad spend ÷ total sales (ads plus organic)
  • ROAS: ad sales ÷ ad spend
  • Organic sales and keyword rank changes

TACoS is the one most sellers ignore, and it’s probably the most important. If your ads are really working, organic sales grow too, and TACoS slowly comes down.

What’s usually not included

It’s worth asking about this upfront so nobody gets surprised later:

  • Your actual ad spend (you pay this to Amazon, not the agency)
  • Product photo shoots (often billed separately)
  • Ads on Flipkart, Meesho or quick commerce apps, unless agreed
  • FBA shipments, logistics and GST filing

Real example: from ₹34 lakh to ₹1.5 crore a month

Numbers say more than promises, so here’s one account we manage. We can’t share the brand name, but we can share what happened.

Where they were before us: average total sales of about ₹34 lakh a month, with ads running at roughly 35% ACoS. So for every ₹100 of sales the ads brought in, around ₹35 went straight back to Amazon.

What we worked on:

  • Rebuilt campaigns around hero products and keywords that actually convert
  • Cut search terms that were spending without selling
  • Improved listings and creatives so more clicks turned into orders
  • Planned budgets around big sale months instead of keeping them flat all year

Where they are now, 15 months in:

MetricBeforeMonth 15
Monthly total salesAbout ₹34 lakh₹1.53 crore
Ad ACoSAbout 35%20.9%
TACoSNot tracked11.3%
Sales from adsNot tracked₹83 lakh on ₹17.4 lakh spend (4.8x ROAS)

That’s roughly 4.5x the monthly sales, with ACoS down by about 14 points.

The part people usually miss? Organic sales went from about ₹26 lakh in our first month to over ₹70 lakh. Good ads don’t just buy sales. They help products climb the rankings, and ranked products sell on their own.

No magic trick here. Mostly discipline, repeated every single week.

Do you really need an Amazon advertising agency?

Honest answer: not always. If you sell one or two products and spend less than ₹30,000 a month on ads, you can learn the basics yourself.

But it’s worth hiring an Amazon advertising agency if:

  • Your ACoS stays above 30% and you don’t know why
  • You spend ₹1 lakh or more a month and growth has stalled
  • You have 20+ products and no time to manage them properly
  • A big sale is coming and you don’t have a plan
  • Your ad spend keeps rising but organic sales don’t

5 questions to ask before you hire one

  1. Will you audit my account before starting anything?
  2. Who will manage my account day to day, and how many other accounts do they handle?
  3. Will I keep full ownership of my ad account and data?
  4. Which numbers will you report on, and how often?
  5. Can you show a real result from my category or a similar one?

If they get vague on question 3, that’s your answer.

FAQs

What does an Amazon marketing agency do? An Amazon marketing agency manages everything that drives sales on Amazon: ad campaigns, listing optimisation, A+ Content, Brand Store, deals, reviews and reporting. The goal is to grow total sales while keeping ad costs in check.

How much does an Amazon marketing service cost in India? Most agencies charge a fixed monthly fee, a percentage of ad spend, or a mix of both. The final number depends on how many products you have, which services you need and how much you spend on ads. Your ad spend is always paid to Amazon separately.

What is a good ACoS on Amazon India? It depends on your margin. If you keep 35% profit before ad costs, any ACoS under 35% is profitable on paper. Most brands aim lower on proven products and accept a higher ACoS on new launches.

How long does it take to see results from Amazon ads? Cutting wasted spend usually shows results within the first few weeks. Better rankings and organic sales growth usually take three to six months of steady work.

Can I run Amazon ads without Brand Registry? Yes. You can run Sponsored Products without it. Sponsored Brands, A+ Content and a Brand Store need Brand Registry.

Is Amazon DSP worth it for small sellers? Usually not at the start. DSP generally needs a monthly budget running into lakhs and works best once your listings and Sponsored Ads are already performing well.

The short version

A real Amazon marketing service isn’t just someone pressing “launch campaign”. It’s ads, listings, creatives, sale planning, reviews and honest reporting working together. When those pieces click, you don’t just get cheaper sales. You get a store that keeps selling even when the ads are switched off.
